How our Greenhouses are made
Strategically sited in Tamworth, Staffordshire, our greenhouse factory is ideally positioned for good motorway access to the whole of the UK, enabling us to supply greenhouses and provide great service nationwide.
Quality control
As our speciality is in made-to-measure buildings, we visit each of our customers in person, on multiple occasions if necessary depending on the complexity of the project. If the brief is to replace an existing greenhouse we will visit to inspect the existing base and advise on any remedial work necessary, and to obtain our own measurements prior to manufacture.
If the greenhouse is a new-build, we will provide drawings for the construction of the base and will then also make a site visit to confirm the measurements of the finished site.
Each greenhouse is then individually designed, giving both ourselves and our customers a huge amount of control over each element of the building, from ridge and eave height, to roof pitch, position of doors and so on.
The technical drawing and cutting list is then passed fresh each time to our fabrication team, who will use our own unique set of heavy duty aluminium profiles to cut, punch and weld each section of the greenhouse including the doors from scratch.
Preparation, delivery and installation are also handled by our in-house team, who cover the whole of the mainland UK erecting everything from small lean-to’s up to multi ridge semi commercial glasshouses.
The Dovetail Guarantee
Dovetail Building Developments Ltd offer a 10 year guarantee on the framework of all the greenhouses that we manufacture. Providing there is no failure through inadequate site preparation or subsidence, Dovetail warrants that if the aluminium framework fails within 10 years of purchase, we will replace the necessary parts promptly and free of charge.
The design of our aluminium sections makes it very easy to retro-fit items such as staging, shelving and extra ventilation, all of which are available from ourselves, or third-party fixtures and fittings such as heating and self-watering systems. We keep your technical drawing and glass list on file for many years after delivery meaning that in the event of storm damage or accidental breakage of glass, we can easily supply accurate dimensions for replacement panes.

Each of our buildings is hand-made from our own unique set of heavyweight aluminium profiles and is designed specifically to fit the particular needs of each of our customers.
