Every greenhouse we make is bespoke to some extent, however some of them feel a little bit more like “bespoke plus”, at first glance… This lovely project was a very good example of that. Our first reaction on seeing the site where our customer was intending a greenhouse to be situated was probably “You want a greenhouse where!?”
He was able to visualise exactly what he wanted in his mind’s eye though, all he needed was to find a greenhouse manufacturer willing to work with the site he had and go the extra mile to help him realise the project. What followed over the next few weeks just goes to show how collaborative the process can be between ourselves as a supplier and you the customer.
The original site had been a series of tumbledown lean-to style sheds which all needed to be emptied and removed so that when we first visited the site the customer had a clear area in which to pace out the dimensions and show us exactly what he had in mind. We were then able to take the first set of very basic measurements from the bare bones of the building itself and come away to create a drawing for a local stonemason to use to construct the dwarf wall base for the new greenhouse. Another site visit followed while the stonemason was hard at work, to check on progress so far and discuss some of the level changes and final details in person.
Another site visit was made to conduct a final survey of the finished stone walls and take the measurements from which we could then hand-make every element of the greenhouse to fit the finished base. The frame was then manufactured and powder coated in RAL7034 to match the rest of the paintwork on the property, and the next time we visited it was to install the new greenhouse!
